A gospel preacher, former Postal Service worker for 30 years, and a former Military member of U. S. Army for 6 years. A man who believes in the power of sincere prayer. A husband and father but more importantly I am just a person who believes that I have been called for a purpose. In the plan that God has for us, we all have a purpose. Every person has value and is significant and unique.
BIRTH
He was born on May 1, 1960, in Tyler, Texas to the (late) Charlie Brown and Ruby Brown, he Is the youngest boy of six boys and the second youngest of eleven children. As a resident of Tyler, he grew up on Morris street where he attended T J Austin elementary, Boulter Jr. High, John Tyler High School for a year and a half before graduating from Thomas K. Gorman Catholic High School in Tyler Texas.
PERSONAL and PROFESSION ACCOMPLISHMENT
Pastor Brown began his preaching ministry at the age of sixteen under the leadership of the late Reverend J.E. Curtis at the Spring Creek Baptist Church in September of 1976. After many years of Pastoring Spring Creek Baptist Church, Pastor Curtis was called to organize a new church and I succeeded him as the pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church. After pastoring Spring Creek Baptist Church for 10 years, the Lord decided to reassign me to Macedonia Baptist Church in Chandler, Texas for 10 years. In the year 2000, the Lord reassigned me again to a new location in the city of Grapeland, Texas. This new assignment was the Rising Star Baptist Church where I pastored for the next twenty years. Then in the year 2020, the Lord blessed me to be assigned to a church where my uncle and father in the ministry who was the founder of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church here in Tyler, Texas where I am excited to be after twenty years on the road.
In 1979 after graduating high school I decided to go and serve our country so I enlisted in U.S. Army where I served for six years. MY military journey started in Fort Jackson and from there to Fort Gordon and Fort Hood and then to Europe where I served at Garlstedt which is one hundred kilometers from the Russian border.
In 1984 after returning from my military responsibilities I married my high school sweetheart Felecia Dixon. We have been married for 37 years and have two children Courtney and Cornesia, two grandchildren Kingston and Kinzlee, and son-in-law Louis Henderson.
Pastor Brown has been active in various community activities throughout his ministry. The one activity that he cherishes most is the work that he participated in at John Tyler High where he served on the booster club board both as a member and the president of the booster club.
